Apr 14, 2024 The European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP) was represented by Ms. Sophia Ordona, Associate Director for Government and International Affairs, and Ms. Katrina Baligod, Manager for Industry and Government Affairs, at the PATHWAY project management meeting. Held at the Pangasinan State University - Golden Lion Hotel, this meeting facilitated updates from project partners regarding various work packages.Meanwhile, on 3-4 April was the PATHWAY National Conference, "PATHWAYs to Success: Expanding Opportunities for Higher Education Graduates through Entrepreneurship and Employability". This event was aimed at providing a platform for discussions on enhancing opportunities for higher education graduates, particularly in entrepreneurship and employability, and was joined by representatives from the academe, as well as government, such as the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Department of Tourism (DOT), and Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).At this event, Ms. Helen Grace Baisa, ECCP Vice President, delivered a speech on skills and competency requirements of the industry. Emphasizing ECCP's commitment, she highlighted the Chamberโs efforts through its Human Capital and Education Committees. These efforts include advocating for policy instruments in both public and private sectors, aimed at skills reinforcement, capability development, seamless professional exchange, and fostering holistic working environments.Ms. Baisa likewise actively participated in a panel discussion alongside representatives from the DOT and DOLE. The discussion centered around employment trends and entrepreneurship opportunities, shedding light on critical insights and strategies to address challenges.
